Why I do this work
Prior to becoming a consultant, I spent ten years working for two organizations. One company was an innovative, design-forward contract furniture manufacturer. The other company was a top international advertising agency. Both organizations were consistently ranked among the top 100 companies to work for. I thought:
“Oh, the places you'll go!”
While these were great places to work, I experienced a string of consistently poor managers. No matter how hard I tried, no one was able to elicit my best. Instead of using my authentic self, I was taught to conform. There was only one right way to do things. All other insights need not be shared. I realized:
“You're on your own and you know what you know and YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.”
Almost immediately I began asking the question: “In what ways might I change this closed climate so that people can succeed at work? How could I make it better, richer, and more rewarding?”
“Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in? How much can you lose? How much can you win?”
I launched a company that enabled people to learn, grow, and develop in novel ways. By using interactive, unconventional, hands-on, and improvisational techniques, people could gain skills in a way that fit them.
“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”
Over time, I’ve ‘curated’ a collection of passionate, dedicated professionals that are able to help you create the right culture, lead the right way, and create innovative ways to thrive.
